A busy week

Plausible it may not be, but entertaining it was and it fitted the bill for something light to watch after dinner with friends. What I'm referring to is Journey to the Center of the Earth. The movie went down nicely, especially after home made free-form apple pie (with Sarah Lee's honeycomb ice cream and whipped cream on the side). It's something I might consider rewatching, but with 3D capable equipment. Ruthie Stars: 6 / 10.

Besides having friends over for dinner (stir fried chicken and veggies in a Green Thai Chilli Sauce from The Chilli Factory), friends made lovely entrees of little pancakes topped with smoked salmon and caviar, and eggs/chives/caviar), we played Wii mini golf and watched the movie.

The weekend was quite productive:

  • Finished watching the anime series, Ergo Proxy. I quite enjoyed the series and the key theme of "whether we become who we are because of our environment, or because of things that are inherent in us", Dai Satō.
  • Finished playing Lego Indiana Jones in story mode. It's more fun than Lego Star Wars.
  • We decluttered the walk in wardrobe which resulted in five bags of clothes and five bags which will be going to one of our favourite charities.
  • I built my first Lego model - an R2D2 while hubby built a few Star Wars lego models.
  • Hubby did a range of gardening and have planted more chilli seeds. We now have twelve varieties of chillies!
  • I attended a New Years Day party at my friend's place where she had organised for a spanish guitarist to come entertain us for a few hours. It was great!
  • I did a lot of sleeping-in, often until 11am! I must be trying to catch up on all the sleep I missed out on in 2008.

Anyhow, it's back to work in the office tomorrow. I'm going to miss working from home...
