Long weekend and a ride to the shops

It's the long weekend, to celebrate Canberra Day. I've spent the day categorising and updating details for our garage sale.

I've also booked two tickets to the Gothic styled cabaret dinner show known as Dracula's Fangs n Fetish show, which is located up at the Gold Coast. The show is described as "a clash between Gothic Opera and Vampyre variety." There are different shows that run each time. We're been meaning to visit Draculas for years, so I'm glad that we finally get to do that this year. It's going to be fun, especially with the dressing up! I've got a black and white corset type top, which I'm going to tee up with a black skirt, some Gothic styled jewellery (if I manage to win it on ebay!) and I'll have to do something about the make-up. I'm not good with the whole Gothic-styled make-up so I think I'll settle for a Gothic influence, rather than pure Gothic!

Hubby bought a bike trailer a few weeks back, in our effort to be more green (and therefore reduce our car's carbon emissions by riding to nearby places). We took it out for a ride this morning to the local supermarket where we did our weekly shop. We managed to fit everything into the bike trailer (the type that sits two little children) although it made it more challenging on the ride home! One of the things we did was to take our blue cooler bag and pop two freezer blocks in it. That helped to keep the meats/diary products cool enough so that it didn't go off on the ride home. I think the ride to the supermarket took about 15 minutes but was a bit longer on the way home.

I'm not sure why the weather is still so warm. It was cooler at the official start of autumn but it looks like Mother Nature has decided to change her mind and give us more summery days! But I'm hoping that it will be still nice and hot up on the Gold Coast as we're going to be checking out the new theme park, White Water World (created by the people who own Dreamworld).
