Dinner and Comet McNaught

Alastair and I had yet another lovely dinner at the civic Wagamama. This time, I had the chilli chicken raman noodles, and Alastair went with a chicken katsu (a green curry). We finished off with a scoop of lychee ice-cream. Yummy!

After dinner, we drove over to Mount Ainslie where we join a flock of Canberreans watching Comet McNaught appear on the horizon. I really struggled to see this comet. It was a bit frustrating hearing everyone around me exclaiming as they locate it unaided, or aided by telescopes of varying fanciness. I borrowed a pair of binoculars and managed to catch a glimpse of the comet.

Also, at the suggestion of the owner's of one of the big fancy telescope, I peered through his telescope and managed to catch another glimpse of it as the comet gradually crept out of sight.

A more fancy picture of the comet can be seen in this news article. We took some photos but I haven't had time to process them....
