One of my favourite science fiction writers has passed away. Hubby and I have many of his books. Every time I think about science fiction, Arthur C Clarke is one of my top 10 writers (Isaac Asimov is also on my list and has a slightly higher placing on my list than Clarke).
For those that are not that familiar with his writing, Arthur C Clarke wrote over 100 books relating to science, space and the future. Some of his more popular stuff has included 2001: A Space Odyssey - this was made into a movie by Stanley Kubrick, but I couldn't stand the movie, the Rama series, and The Fountains of Paradise - in which he described the space elevator.
Condolences to his family, friends and other fans.
